Lake Monger...on my way to golf this morning...so still...

Rusty and Tash dropped in this afternoon...Rusty liked our lounge and the warm sun on his back.

I think Todd was surprised and thrilled to receive this fabulous "Born in the USA" cake, that Tash had her friend make for him.  It was lovely to catch up with Todd's family and friends and share a few drinks at Little Creatures to celebrate his birthday.

Pete and I visited the Linton and Kay Gallery in the city this afternoon to look at the entrants in the Black Swan Portraiture Prize. There were some outstanding paintings. On our way back to the car we admired the street art above....

Almost everytime I drive into our street at this time of year , I am thankful for our lovely street trees.  They are deciduous, so after several weeks of our street looking very bare, almost over night the trees are full of bright green new leaves and the street has a whole new look...and on a day like today they were even more stunning.

...a visit to Araluen Botanic Park

Nat, Cathy and I tried a new coffee shop today. We were quite taken with the unique bench top and also the smell of banana bread cooking in a nearby oven. We liked their coffee as well....don't think I noticed the name of the place though....will have to go back.

Today was the final day of our club Championships, and the weather was just gorgeous. After having been knocked out of the competition in the quarter final, I was able to caddy for Jan in the final for Division 1. She and Audrey (who is 34 weeks pregnant) had a fabulous game and Audrey won on the 21st hole. Alison beat Mardi to become Club Champion.  Everyone seemed to really enjoy the day.

TASHA'S HENS

It has taken me a while to put these photos up on the blog. Most of them were taken by Tasha's lovely friend Steph as I didn't take many on the day. It was a wonderful gathering, Tasha has many kind and thoughtful friends.

Three of her closest friends and her bridesmaids...Sofie, Brodie and Rachel. They did all the planning, cooking and hard work to make the day very special for Tash, I just provided the venue.

Because it was cold and wet outside (not exactly what we had hoped for) , we set up inside. The decorations, flowers and food made the place look delightful.

The maids asked me to make a veil for Tash, Jo and her friend Robyn were helping Tash put it on. I thought it looked gorgeous.

One of Brodie's terrific ideas was to set up this tree branch and ask the guests to take a polaroid photo of themselves (with Tash or a friend) and then write a note to Tash and attach it to the photo. Such beautiful words for Tash to treasure. Below Cathy and Juliet add their photos.

Nerida had prepared a quiz for Natasha and Todd, here she is asking Tash "what is her most embarrassing moment?". She was a little surprised to know that Todd had actually told Nerida what it was. We all found it most amusing.

Mandy, Marguerite, Barb, juliet, Tash, me and Cathy....so nice to be able to share the occasion with dear friends.

This game was my idea, I had seen it on Facebook...it was a real hit, had us all in fits of laughter.

The last to leave , before they went for drinks at Frisk and then the Mint (bar and club)...Jeremy, Rachel, Amy, Nerida, Tash, Steph, Sofie and Brodie.

Spring is here.......

Sunday, 6 September 2015

Father's Day....Pete began his day happily on the golf course. Whilst I played with Jane, Jessie and Janine, Pete played with their husbands, Gerry, Greg and Les. It was a beautiful morning...and whilst we were waiting to hit off the 9th, this kookaburra kept dipping into the lake and then sitting in the sun.

....and  in the evening, dinner with Jeremy, Tash and Todd....

Today we had the pleasure of attending Jeremy's Admission Ceremony at the Supreme Court of Western Australia. It was a really interesting and enjoyable occasion and we were so proud of Jeremy.

After the ceremony we, and all the other parents and grads were invited to a morning tea at Allens....again, most enjoyable, Pete and I were so impressed with everyone from Allens, such friendly people...below is the wonderful view over the Swan River from their offices.
