Reine to Harstad
Blue sky today, much to our delight....
I took many photos from places that I have already photographed but they look quite different with the sunshine.
At breakfast we could see the clouds moving away...
....and we were able to see more of the mountains...
We packed up and left after breakfast , on our way back to Tromso...and since it was sunny and quite warm we decided to stop at four beaches ....we hadn't explored them yet. This photo was taken from the car as we were leaving this wonderland village.
This photo weas taken on the island next to ours...called Flakstadoya..which is also in the Lofoten Archipelago.
Not only was there sunshine....there was very little breeze as you can see by the perfect reflections...
The first beach we stopped at was Yttersand on the same island as Reine...called Moskenesoya. There was a long white sandy beach and a stream running next to it.
The second beach we visited was Ramberg on Flakstadoya Island.
It was stunning...
Flakstad beach...the sun was out, there was a little wave... so I went for a swim...in the Norwegian Sea in the Arctic Circle....exhilarating! There was a number of people learning how to surf...they had wetsuits on.
Me catching a small wave..the water was so clear...
Another stunning beach ...Myrland...
We stopped and had a look at this church....I have never seen a church like it.
Svolvaer is one of the larger towns on the archipelago....
Pete and I feel very lucky that we saw this wonderful scenery when the sun was shining...but also glad to have seen it when it was cloudy...
We arrived in Harstad in the late afternoon...and this is the view from our hotel window.
