Last night we arrived at the Manning Camp Ground...I never tire of seeing these extraordinary Boab trees...

Manning Gorge

This sandy beach, a few minutes walk from the campground was the starting point of the Manning Gorge trek . We had to swim across the river pushing a plastic tub carrying our boots, phones and cameras. Such a glorious morning I really found it hard to get out of the water.

An amazing walk ...gradually going higher....and surprisingly quite a few wildflowers...

... steep descent ....

Striking white sand below by the water...

Our favourite gorge so far...so very pretty...

Magnificent falls...the black rock glistened in the sunshine...you can just see some people on the rocks next to the water falls.

There were quite a few places where you could swim, all with outstanding views of the gorge.

We could have spent all day there but it was getting warm and we had a long walk back to the camp ground. We were also keen to get on the road to El
Questro which was a fair distance.

Another swim of the river...

...on the Gibb again...destination, El Questro Station

Quite a few friends had recommended a stop at Ellenbrae Station which is renowned for serving delicious tea and scones. We were not disappointed.

There is still a lot of water around...we have crossed over so many creek beds. We were running a bit later than we had planned and ended up crossing the Pentecost River and arriving at El Questro in the dark. Luckily Pete is an excellent driver.
