All along the coast it is either stunning cliffs or
beautiful sandy beaches....this is from a lookout
near Bermagui’s famous Blue Pool.
...an iconic rock pool at the base of a cliff. It
is rated number six out of eight of the best
ocean rock pools in the world. When we arrived
it was overcast but after a short while the sun
came out.
Further around the headland we walked down tothe water’s edge and explored the rock pools.
Bermagui’s Fishermen’s Wharf...the Continental
Shelf is just twenty kms offshore, making
Bermagui the closest point to the Shelf on the
Australian east coast. Most of their catch goes
up to Sydney. I had marlin for dinner last night.
... a lucky shot ...
Horseshoe Bay... one of the many beaches
in and around Bermagui.
Morning tea stop was at Lake Wallaga, one of
the largest coastal lakes in NSW. The mountain
behind is Mt Dromedary.
...spotted gums are everywhere in this part of
the world...
From the Narooma cemetery you get this
fabulous view of the Glasshouse Rocks. If you
follow a track down the cliff you can get to the
beach for a better look.
This was such a marvellous area to explore...
the colours of the rocks, their shapes and sizes
and the mighty waves that came rolling towards us...and the squeaky sand which gives such
amazing reflections.
Tonight we are in Tuross Head, literally a few
paces from Tuross Lake. Bliss.
