As there was no golf today,  Pete and I decided to go sight seeing. We hired a car.....first stop, Surfers Paradise beach....

The old and the new in Surfers Paradise.

Mermaid Beach...no high rise buildings, a little more like the Gold Coast I remember.

Miami Beach....

Burleigh Heads...

We did a walk through Burleigh Heads National Park....

The other side of the Heads is Tallebudgera Creek...

Tallebudgera Creek...meets the ocean. This was a most beautiful place to paddle.

The place I most looked forward to seeing, Rainbow Bay.

We enjoyed our first swim in the ocean here....

The lovely old Surf Club at Rainbow Bay....

...where we had lunch whilst watching the surfers. 

Tweed heads

Cabarita Beach....this was probably the prettiest beach we stopped at...

Byron Bay....then the return trip back to our apartment.
