On our way to meet Jeremy for brunch we discovered this wonderful library in the Athenaeum Building.  The building also houses the Athenaeum Theatre ....it was built in1839 and has so much interesting history. I would like to visit the library again...

Another attractive old building opposite...

In the afternoon Pete and I visited the NGV to see this exhibition...

The exhibition design is immersive and sensory-rich, inspired by the opulent 19th century Boston drawing rooms and refined salon interiors.

There were over 100 iconic paintings by famed Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists. These were my favourites...above is "Roses in a Vase" painted by Henri Fantin-Latour in 1872.

"Houses at Auvers" painted by Vincent van Gogh....we bought a print of this one.

Such an amazing room ...

There were 16 Monet paintings displayed in this grand oval room, evoking the ambiance of Paris's Musee de l'Orangerie...

"Water Lillies"

"Seacoast at Trouville"

"Fishermans's Cottage on the Cliffs at Varengerville"

Monet in his garden...

Scenes from our train ride home, couldn't resist capturing the view.

Monty asleep amongst his toys....

Chris Rich...

A quiet evening at home ....
