The Silver Spoon play off was held at Gosnells Golf club this year and I was fortunate enough to represent WAGC. I didn't play that well but I did manage to win a nearest the pin. Gosnells is a lovely course and I thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Mandy, Margot and Julie bracing themselves as they enter the very cold water, hoping that it won't pour with rain before we finish our swim.

We again had the beach to ourselves (not surprisingly)...only our friend Danny the lifesaver was on duty, for which we are very thankful.

Crazy ladies!

It was a stunning day in Perth today, a little chilly but gorgeous blue sky. I went to the book sale again and was thrilled to see these ducklings keeping warm on the pavement....so cute.

Our flowering almond tree ....

Monday, 22 August 2016

I popped a couple of small branches from our almond tree in a vase to brighten up the lounge room for book club tonight. We discussed Tasha's choice "Eyrie" by Tim Winton. Tash led an enthusiastic discussion, most of us enjoyed the book, I loved it.

It's that time of year again, the Save the Children Book Sale is happening at the University of WA. I just love it.

The view this morning from Odyssea Beach Cafe. We were lucky to have our walk and swim before the rain settled in.

Maree, Juliet and Mandy ....We don't usually stop for a coffee but this week we met up with Maree, her first trip back since breaking her leg.

After a miserable morning the sun came out in the afternoon. Pete and I went to an Art Show in Sorrento and then continued up the coast road , stopping at a few beaches. The photo above was taken at Pinnaroo Point...

These next photos were taken north of Burns Beach....

Cambridge Street 7am....To try and improve my fitness before our walks in New Zealand I decided to walk to the beach this morning. It was very quiet on the roads and there was a pretty sunrise (I had to keep turning around  to see it). Once I got to Bold Park I enjoyed seeing all the wild flowers that are already blooming.

Afternoon walk through Subi Centro....

Thursday, 11 August 2016

Cathy and I met at Hillarys boat harbour this afternoon and decided to walk south for our coastal walk.

We were lucky that the sun came out and the water sparkled...this shot was taken near Watermans Beach.

Looking south down the coast , it was so clear all the way to Fremantle.

Laughing outside my window in our very bare liquid amber tree....

Golfers aren't wimps, we played 18 holes in the rain today. It was the second round of the foursomes championships and Nada and I played very well. Our playing partners were Jenny and Jan for both Tuesday and today and we will be playing against them in the quarter finals on Tuesday as they qualified 4th and we qualified 5th in the top eight.

Today Cathy chose our walking destination, Burns Beach Coastal Walk. It is a part of the coastline I haven't been to before and quite different to the beaches closer to home. And, there is a cafe where we could enjoy a coffee at the end of our walk.

I just love this gorgeous photo that Tash texted me.  She is pinning a beautiful quilt for her niece Harriet while Rusty looks on (it is very difficult for him to sit still).
