The beautiful pine trees that are in and around Curtin University....years ago this land that the university is on was the Collier pine plantation. The trees were planted in 1925 by the WA Forests Department.

At the golf club today we celebrated Jan and Jenny's birthdays, two delightful ladies that I am glad are my friends.

It is also Tasha's birthday today and she sent me this photo of her at her morning tea that her colleagues had made for her. I am so pleased that she works with such thoughtful people.

Todd put this photo up on instagram ...looking forward to celebrating with them both on Friday.

Thank goodness, some warm weather at last....this morning Marjolijn brought her houseguest Kristen who is visiting from Norway. She so enjoyed being in Perth and loved our relaxed lifestyle.

And here is another gorgeous photo of Pete holding his nephew Lucian...so precious. Pete was thrilled to be in Sydney and be able to share this exciting time with Phil and Carlo.

I noticed this pretty tree on campus this afternoon. I had never seen one like it before, the white flowers, heart shaped leaves and long brown seed pods. It was hard to find on Google, it is a catalpa.

Today was the first day of the summer season and the first day for our new Vice Captain Jonnine and Captain Anne. Needless to say there has been quite a lot of joking about the height difference! They are both terrific ladies who will do a great job.

Today at the club, we had our Annual General Meeting followed by a delicious three course lunch to celebrate the end of another golfing season. The year's prizes were announced ( I won the Div 1 Silver Spoon ) and then there was entertainment and dancing. In the photo above are from left Dawn (who is 82 and still plays 18 holes off a 21 handicap), Jane, me, Jan (who was this year's captain) and Sue.

My day off today and I spent the morning with Tash and her little god-daughter Bethany and Bethany's mum Amy and Amy's mum , Rosemary. We took the dogs to the park and sat in the glorious sunshine with a coffee.

Rusty and Amy's dog, Roger.

A beautiful Monday morning at Curtin University (Department of Architecture in the distance).

The par 3 fifth green... I took this photo for two reasons....the amazing sky and the fact that I hit the ball out of that front bunker and into the hole for a birdie. Pete and I had a lovely game with Jo and Don Lamont.

Sunday, 6 November 2016

At last, some warm weather on a Saturday morning....Margot took this photo of us ladies after our swim.

Whilst I was at the beach, James the painter arrived to paint the family room ceiling. This is the last of the painting as Pete has finished all the other rooms. I now have a wonderfully bright and clean looking home.

This is our very happy neighbour Steve with his 6 month old son Harrison. Steve was having a wonderful time giving out lollies to all the children in the street. I'm looking forward to seeing little Harrison grow up.
