Ready to go fly kites down at the beach...

Wd drove down to the Margaret River mouth...there was a lot of wind coming off the ocean...

One kite just wouldn't stay up....Pete tried...it just kept spinning around...

Luckily the other kite performed well...

What could be more fun than flying kites on a windy day at the beach....

It was really pleasant to visit The Sea Garden cafe in Prevelly for a coffee and treats. Excellent cafe with fabulous cakes and coffee AND children's books.

Flynn says I'm his best friend...melts my heart...

Cool display of surf boards outside the cafe...

Next stop, a wonderful children's playground...

...one of the sculptures on the Art Trail..

Tired boy...

It is called Cow Town for a reason.

Drawing and cutting before school...

Todd texted that there was a five metre swell today so Pete, Flynn and I drove to Cowaramup Bay...I don't think we have ever seen the bay so wild.

Cold and windy too...

We didn't stay long...but enjoyed seeing the ocean.

Nice and warm inside....playing with play dough.

At the beach this morning...we were all amazed...very choppy ocean and plenty of water that had come up with the tide overnight...City Beach just looked so different...

Looking north towards Scarborough beach....the water flowing back into the ocean...

Many, many more shells than usual...

There was this long channel of water..

We picked up lots of rubbish too...

The lifeguard recommended we swim south of the groyne...the channel of water here was quite deep and there was a strong current...great fun! Margot and Jen in the water..Mandy watching..

Margot trying to stand up...which was very difficult with the current taking the sand from under your feet.

The sand was being eroded  into the water while I stood there...

This photo gives you some idea of the strength of the current...in all the years that we have been coming to the beach on Saturday mornings, we have never seen anything like it was today.

On our walk home after a lovely lunch at Pizzaca (one of our local restaurants)...we were celebrating Mandy's birthday, which is tomorrow.

Brighton Beach in the late afternoon...Mandy and I wanted to see how this beach had been affected by the wild ocean ...it was much calmer....

A beautiful sky...

Drinks at Jeff and Christine's new home ...Mandy and Graeme were delighted to see their new home.

It was Margot and Graeme's turn to host our "Cheap and Cheerful" gathering this evening...Mandy and Graeme drove up to Perth to enjoy the night too.

Graeme, Geoff and Jeff...after some yummy nibbles at Margot and Graeme's, we all walked down the street to a Thai restaurant...that served very tasty food...

And as is the custom, we returned to Margot and Graeme's for dessert...which was a delicious cheese cake that Margot had made.
