Yes some of us are stupid enough to play on a day when the temperature rose to 39 degrees, but at least Barb and I did it in a cart!

On such a warm night it is always very pleasant sitting in our outdoor area. This evening we had Mike and Marjolijn (in the photo) and Mandy and Gra over for a barbecue.

Whilst we were sitting chatting, some photos from Jeremy came through on WhatsApp. He is in Amsterdam now, I just love this photo.

I had a wonderful New Year's Day, doing all the things I most enjoy doing.  First thing we did was go to the beach, just lovely.

After relaxing at home, reading and playing the piano, we went to Tash and Todd's for dinner. Todd used his smoker on the barbecue for the first time, it was sensational.

Then we went to the Fremantle Arts Centre for their annual New Year's Day concert. The view of the lights from the port and the old buildings was delightful as we waited for the bands...last on were Lake Street Dive, who didn't disappoint.

Last beach Saturday for the year and there were only the four of us, but the beach looked beautiful.

Jane, Barb, Sue and me....on the balcony at the golf club. What a lovely night we had, fabulous dinner, then dancing and ending with watching the fireworks back out on the balcony. It was a great way to say goodbye to 2016 and welcome the new year.

Today we had a game with Nat and Andrei( in the photo) at Yokine.

Pete and I were very proud to show them our new balcony on the club house where we enjoyed a few drinks and lunch after the game. It's always great fun to play golf with them.

Today was a perfect day for golf, my first game in two weeks. I had a really nice time out on the course with Jane W, Lauren and Pam. Looking forward  to another game tomorrow.

We did a little sightseeing with Chris today. We went for a wander around Elizabeth Quay and found that it is now home to the replica of the Duyfken for three months of the year.

Although the trees around the quay are newly planted and still quite small, they were flowering beautifully.

The distinctive arches of the Quay.

After our relatively long walk we relaxed and had lunch at the Grovenor then a few hours watching the cricket at home before taking Chris to the airport. It has been lovely to have him over.
