Bookclub No2 at my house tonight...the book this month was 'The Netanyahus" by Joshua Cohen...quite different to anything I have ever read, very difficult to read in the beginning, lots of words I didn't know the meaning of...but in the end I wanted to read it again. It won the Pulitzer Prize this year. In the photo Karen is on the left and Claire is playing a section of the audio book, spoken by the author...she was in fits of laughter!

Jeremy took Pete and I out to dinner tonight to Post....my birthday present. Pete and I were away for my birthday and then Jeremy had Covid so actually very nice to have another celebration. Excellent food and wine!

Beautiful Council House opposite the Treasury building (where we had dinner)...not sure why the lights were blue tonight...often they have meaning...they were blue and yellow when Ukraine was invaded by Russian troops.

Van Gogh Alive
This amazing art display (not really sure what to call it as it is so much more than an art display) arrived in Perth quite a while ago and Pete and I weren't really keen to see it. However the ladies at Mahjong thought it was worth seeing and they were not wrong. It was first launched in 2011 and has been displayed in 70+ cities to over 8 million visitors. We absolutely loved it.

I'm very proud to say that the Western Australian Golf Club won two awards at last week's Western Australian Golf Industry Awards. We won the Golf Course of the Year and the Golf Facility of the Year for the metropolitan area. The last time we won these awards were 2010 and 2014 respectively. This is thanks to some key people...Nigel Cameron, Bar Manager (2nd from the left), Willie Jordaan, Men's Captain (3rd from the left),  Idris Evans, Course Superintendent (4th from the left), Damien Todorovic, General Manager (5th from the left) and Colin Wooton, President (6th from the left).  They are a great team.

The Hotham Valley Steam Train...our reason for coming to Dwellingup...

After taking a good look at the engine we went to find our carriage...

Waiting patiently for the train to move...lots of whistle blowing and train tooting..

Enjoying his mini muffin...

After an hour of travelling through the beautiful bush and farmland we arrived at the end of the line...where the engine had to go from one track to another and back again to be at the front of the train to return to Dwellingup...this was very exciting to watch.

The return trip wasn't quite as exciting as the first hour of the ride...a lolly pop kept them happy while looking out the windows.

Flynn had a nap in Tasha's sling and thought the return trip very exciting when he woke up. This is my last photo from our five fabulous days away. I had a great birthday...and I still have celebrations with my big boys to look forward to...next Sunday with Jeremy and in August in Melbourne with Chris and Michelle.

It was a beautiful walk to the Falls...

Having a wonderful time with their sticks...

Marrinup Falls

Visited South Dandalup Dam

In the afternoon the boys took their bikes down to the bike track...

Will loved it..

Ethan decided to scoot it rather than bike it...

Beautiful oak trees in the town...such distinctive and pretty leaves.

The wattles just starting to bloom...everywhere....

A game before bed....

Ethan managed to win the two games! So proud of himself.
