Pete and I left Mandy and Graeme's house after breakfast and a few hours later as we were driving into Perth, Tash texted us to say Mandy and Graeme had to evacuate their home due to a bush fire that was close by.

Mandy texted me these photos ..it was scary for a while but the fire brigade had it under control by 8pm ...then Mandy could go home...they were lucky to have a lake less than a kilometre away, the helicopters could drop water at a good pace. 

Chris is now in Denver and it is -10 degrees....he says it is a beautiful place ...

On our way to Mandy and Graeme's Pete and I stopped at Point Piquet beach for a swim...it is our favourite bay beach and the weather was perfect.

We are down south this weekend...spent the day with Flynn while Mum was teaching...after a coffee and cake Flynn enjoyed playing in this car while Pete did some shopping.

...we spent some time at the Margaret River train park (that's what we call it)...

....such a happy chap....

In the late afternoon we all went to the Margaret River Brewhouse restaurant to celebrate Tash and Todd's friend and neighbour, Jez's 50th birthday ...we ate outside while the kids ran around the fabulous playground...the kids were happy to see the kookaburras...so was I...

Obviously it is a popular spot....the food was fantastic ...

What a fabulous lunch we had today to celebrate Janine's birthday....Deb, Jane W, Janine and Jane E.....at Tom's Italian Restaurant over looking the ocean at North Beach. Great food and wonderful company. 

 

I'm enjoying working on this new quilt and so grateful that I have a whole room to sew in and put all the pieces together ....

Very happy with my first attempt at making sauerkraut....it tastes delicious ...I was inspired by Tash who has been successfully making her own for quite a while.

On our golf course this morning...one of our many Zamia palms ...its fruit is quite stunning.....pretty hot on the course today but always happy to be playing...
