Nat, Cathy and I spotted this sculpture on our walk after lunch today...it is called Unfolding Lives" by Judith Forrest. It is a memorial to commemorate the thousands of West Australians who were abused as children in state care. It's modeled on the children's game that you make with folded paper.

Today I was very excited to receive an email from Jeremy saying he had won the Golden Gavel Competition.... a public speaking competition for young lawyers.He now travels to Melbourne for the National Grand Final in October ... well done mate!

A fisherman caught a salmon at Floreat Beach this morning....we haven't seen that before on a Saturday...

 

and a few hundred metres down the beach, this rather large and ugly fish had been washed up, I have no idea what sort of fish it is but it was quite striking in appearance.
