I'm having a great time making this quilt...

I really appreciate having a queen size bed to lay the patches on...

At the beach this morning...we were all amazed...very choppy ocean and plenty of water that had come up with the tide overnight...City Beach just looked so different...

Looking north towards Scarborough beach....the water flowing back into the ocean...

Many, many more shells than usual...

There was this long channel of water..

We picked up lots of rubbish too...

The lifeguard recommended we swim south of the groyne...the channel of water here was quite deep and there was a strong current...great fun! Margot and Jen in the water..Mandy watching..

Margot trying to stand up...which was very difficult with the current taking the sand from under your feet.

The sand was being eroded  into the water while I stood there...

This photo gives you some idea of the strength of the current...in all the years that we have been coming to the beach on Saturday mornings, we have never seen anything like it was today.

On our walk home after a lovely lunch at Pizzaca (one of our local restaurants)...we were celebrating Mandy's birthday, which is tomorrow.

Brighton Beach in the late afternoon...Mandy and I wanted to see how this beach had been affected by the wild ocean ...it was much calmer....

A beautiful sky...

Drinks at Jeff and Christine's new home ...Mandy and Graeme were delighted to see their new home.

It was Margot and Graeme's turn to host our "Cheap and Cheerful" gathering this evening...Mandy and Graeme drove up to Perth to enjoy the night too.

Graeme, Geoff and Jeff...after some yummy nibbles at Margot and Graeme's, we all walked down the street to a Thai restaurant...that served very tasty food...

And as is the custom, we returned to Margot and Graeme's for dessert...which was a delicious cheese cake that Margot had made.

One of my happy places...

I'm putting together a large scrap quilt with all my remnants...it will bring back a lot of memories and at the same time allow me to buy some modern vibrant fabrics ...

My beautiful Mother's Day flowers that Jeremy, Tash and Chris sent. I was pleased to be able to chat to all three today...thank goodness for modern technology.

After a quiet morning Pete and I drove into the city to see the musical RENT performed at His Majesty's Theatre. Down the road not far from the theatre is the Agnate Hotel, one of the Art Series Hotels of the which there are quite a few around Australia. The mural was painted by Melbourne based artist Matt Adnate. It is one of the world's tallest murals at 25 stories. There are three portraits...the faces of a Noongar man, an Indian woman, and a Mediterranean woman.

The musical was fabulous...great performance by everyone on stage.

His Majesty's has had renovations done recently...including this spacious verandah...

And a new bar on the second floor, which wasn't opened today but looked like something out of the movies.

Such a beautiful theatre...been here a long time...built in 1904.

A gorgeous photo of Tash, Will, Ethan and Flynn...taken this morning by Todd. Again , thanks to modern technology. Just seeing this photo today was a gift.

It was a foggy, eerie morning....

Nice to have Mandy join us...

Sunshine...

Big waves...and warm water...

There was just the swell, not choppy....behind the waves the water was like glass.

Lovely ladies ....

Sisters....
