Visiting the art galleries in Melbourne is always on our agenda when in town. First stop today was the Ian Potter Centre in Federation Square. This is a photo of the original Rainbow flag, the widely recognised emblem of pride and activism for the LGBTQI+ community. Each of the coloured stripes represents a different meaning: red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for serenity and violet for spirit. The flag was conceived by Gilbert Baker, a San Francisco-based activist and designer who created it for the city's Gay Freedom Day Parade, held on 25 June 1978. Baker refused to trademark his design so it would remain in the public domain. I learnt all this today.

The collection was about change and there were some wonderful exhibits.

The people of Melbourne...

The painting on the boards was amazingly detailed....

A couple of shots I took on the way to the National Gallery of Victoria.

I've been looking forward to this exhibition....

An amazing installation in the foyer of the gallery.....a giant mirror above this incredible floor.

The Gabrielle Chanel exhibition....

Started the day with a brisk walk around Cherry Lake which is walking distance from Chris and Michelle's house.

In the late morning we visited Williamstown.....where many buildings remain from bygone eras.

Williamstown Beach...rather busy today as it was quite warm for Melbourne.

Views of the city...after another long walk we stopped for lunch at Hobson Bay Hotel and then had another wine at their rooftop bar....fabulous view.

Michelle and Chris' Wedding Celebration

Kimmie (Chris' groom's person) ....I watched closely hoping to learn something. Pete and I were so pleased that we were included in the run sheet. Whilst Chris and his party prepared for the wedding at his house, Michelle and her bridesmaids and mum dressed at the Crown Towers.

The photographer (Eric) and the videographer catching Chris cooking us bacon and egg burgers.

Doesn't he look so handsome?

And don't they look gorgeous....Kimmie in her beautiful navy dress and his good friend Ben.

Watching Michelle and Brad walk down the aisle.

I was so pleased that I knew nothing about what was going to happen today....everything was a lovely surprise....Michelle in her dress was a wonderful stunning surprise.

Dominika (Dom) and Ella...the beautiful bridesmaids...both of whom came over and had a lovely chat with me during the evening...really delightful young ladies.

Chris reading his vows, beautifully...

Michelle and her family...brother Daniel, mother Halina and dad Brad.

I asked Brad to take this photo whilst Eric was photographing us.

After fearing for months that we wouldn't be able to celebrate with Chris and Michelle, we were so pleased that it was a thoroughly enjoyable day and magical evening.
