Today we played at the Glades golf course...and what a pretty course it was. We spotted lots of tortoises in the water.

I had a good game and won the ladies competition. 

Tonight, our final night, we walked to the Convention Centre for our Gala Dinner.

Surprisingly I won the Ladies B Grades (40 - 64 years) competition..

Dancing with my darling husband...the band was terrific...a great night.

Kurrawa Beach this morning...

This afternoon we played at Palm Meadows. It was still overcast but no rain and nice and warm. The course was very wet though. Above is a photo of Prada from Thailand, my other playing partners were Deb from Wellington NZ and my good friend Jane Ellis from WAGC.

The homes and gardens around the course were stunning.

As there was no golf today,  Pete and I decided to go sight seeing. We hired a car.....first stop, Surfers Paradise beach....

Mermaid Beach...no high rise buildings, a little more like the Gold Coast I remember.

The other side of the Heads is Tallebudgera Creek...

Tallebudgera Creek...meets the ocean. This was a most beautiful place to paddle.

The place I most looked forward to seeing, Rainbow Bay.

We enjoyed our first swim in the ocean here....

Day 2 of the tournament and it is still raining ....

No it isn't a little lake, it is actually a green side bunker full of water! Luckily all bunkers were GUR.

A surprisingly good day for me... I won a shirt but as they had none small enough in the proshop, I took one for Pete. I was very happy that I played well.

This afternoon the sun came out and we walked along the beach...Kurrawa is the closest. All the beaches are closed due to contaminated water after the storms....hence the foam.

Our first game was this morning at Links Hope Island. Pete and I don't play together but we play on the same course, I with the ladies and he with the men. Sadly it was raining and play was abandoned after 13 holes.

The ladies I played with ...Brenda from Calliope in Qld, Laurie from the Gold Coast and Sue from  NSW.

We are staying at the Meriton in Broadbeach. The apartment is perfect with a wonderful view.

We have arrived at the Gold Coast for the Gold Coast World Masters Golf Championship 2018. Before start of play tomorrow we had a fun night this evening at Top Golf,  a relatively new indoor game facility. Above is Pete...
