Flowers in the garden...

Taryn and Chris' lovely newly renovated kitchen  that they did themselves....looks like a photo in Kinfolk magazine. I'm incredibly proud of both of them, can't wait to see it next month. (I stole the photo from instagram).

Today we, the Saturday beach girls celebrated Marjolijn's 60th birthday by walking from City Beach to Swanbourne Beach. We surprised Marjolijn by dressing in orange (her favourite colour)  and wearing orange sunglasses...

Walking towards Swanbourne...where we also had a swim...

and then breakfast at The Naked Fig on the beachfront...
Marjolijn, Juliet, Mandy, Pauline, Julie, Margot and myself...they even served us orange coffee cups!

On our way to a Fringe Festival show in Northbridge this evening, Pete and I took a quick stroll through the Pleasure Garden, great night for the Festival.

I dropped in briefly at the Writer's Festival today at the University of Western Australia to hear Brooke Davis speak, as I have recently enjoyed reading her debut novel "Lost and Found". I took this photo as I was passing the beautiful Geography and Geology departments.

Barrack Street Perth ...waiting for the Giants...I had never seen so many people lining the street of Perth.

The Diver....

It was spectacular to see how the Lilliputians (red coats) jumped from the truck pulling the ropes to lift the Diver's feet and make him walk.

The Diver stopped and rested  and had a cool drink.

Tash and Pete....

The Diver having his afternoon nap... we had lunch at the Grovenor with Tash, Todd and Jeremy. What a fabulous morning ...The Giants were so amazing, so glad they came to Perth.

And as if the day hadn't already been wonderful enough, Pete and I went to see Mozart Dances at His Majesty's this evening, the Mark Morris Dance Group from the US dancing to Mozart piano and orchestral works. We both thought it excellent.
