A sweet photo Tash sent me on WhatsApp, she and Todd are down in Dunsborough at yet another wedding.

My playing partners today were Sue, Jane and Barb. It was a special day as we were celebrating Barb and Jane's 60th birthdays.

After a fun game we all gathered on the balcony for lunch and continued celebrating until late afternoon.

Today was my first working day of 2017. The Uni campus is still very quiet and peaceful and all the trees are still flowering. At lunchtime everyone in the department met for lunch at "Common Ground" which was a great way to start the working year.

Yes some of us are stupid enough to play on a day when the temperature rose to 39 degrees, but at least Barb and I did it in a cart!

On such a warm night it is always very pleasant sitting in our outdoor area. This evening we had Mike and Marjolijn (in the photo) and Mandy and Gra over for a barbecue.

Whilst we were sitting chatting, some photos from Jeremy came through on WhatsApp. He is in Amsterdam now, I just love this photo.

I had a wonderful New Year's Day, doing all the things I most enjoy doing.  First thing we did was go to the beach, just lovely.

After relaxing at home, reading and playing the piano, we went to Tash and Todd's for dinner. Todd used his smoker on the barbecue for the first time, it was sensational.

Then we went to the Fremantle Arts Centre for their annual New Year's Day concert. The view of the lights from the port and the old buildings was delightful as we waited for the bands...last on were Lake Street Dive, who didn't disappoint.

Last beach Saturday for the year and there were only the four of us, but the beach looked beautiful.

Jane, Barb, Sue and me....on the balcony at the golf club. What a lovely night we had, fabulous dinner, then dancing and ending with watching the fireworks back out on the balcony. It was a great way to say goodbye to 2016 and welcome the new year.
