Today's playing partners...Suzanne from Hawaii (she is travelling around Australia playing golf with three Australian friends), Julie from Esperance and Cheryl from Mandurah.

...more photos of the course ..... with the blue sky and sunshine

What an appropriate way to display the hole information...

Fairways like carpet....

More red than green...you had to hit it straight ....

Mostly elevated greens ....

Our final hole...a remarkable course which I hope to play again one day.

Dinner and the presentation of prizes .....

The WAGC gang ...quite a few of us won prizes ...we were such a happy bunch, had a fabulous three days.

Beautiful evening...

The flight home ....so pleased we flew over the Super Pit.

There were so many smaller mines that we saw from the plane...

Stunning images...

I loved the little clouds in the distance....

No rain today, but very cloudy...I had a very enjoyable game with Lois from Mandurah and Linley from Maylands.

After a delicious lunch with Jenny, Irene and Lorenz at a restaurant  on the main street, Lorenz and I went for a walk to look at all the beautiful old buildings.

The statue of Paddy Hannan on Hannan Street in the heart of Kalgoorlie. Patrick Hannan was a gold prospector whose lucrative discovery on 14 June 1893 set off a major gold rush in the area now known as Kalgoorlie-Boulder in Western Australia.

The Palace Hotel is a historic hotel and landmark which has been in the heart of Kalgoorlie since 1897. We were to have dinner on the verandah in the evening.

More old buildings, I was quite impressed with how well they are being looked after.

Lovely big wide streets...

The balcony of the Palace Hotel

The view from the balcony....

What a great night we had...the food was fabulous and we had so many laughs....from the left is Jan, Jenny, Lee, Irene, Lorenz and Jonnine.

The Super Pit is one of the Australia's largest open pit gold mines...I have wanted to see it for a long time...I was absolutely amazed at the depth of the pit. Lorenz and I were thankful that Jenny drove us to  the lookout in the rain.

The enormous trucks looked so tiny....gives you an idea of how large this pit is.

Lorenz and I are staying with Jenny and Irene (above) in The View motel...the rain continued for most of the day and it was bitterly cold and very windy...not at all what we had expected to experience in Kalgoorlie.

The nicest part of the day was at around 5 pm....this photo is of the little artificial lake next to the clubhouse...

The stunning Goldfields course...it didn't look so beautiful this morning when we played, so nice to see it in the sunlight.
