Chris and Monty..

One of the streets in Newport ....what lovely trees on the verge...

I've never seen  paperbark trees so large - they're absolutely magnificent. This  photo was taken on Monmouth Street where Chris and Michelle live.

This morning Pete and I had brunch with Margaret and Steve at Ned's in Albert Park.

This is the Biltmore Building in Albert Park, a landmark structure known for its  historical significance and architectural style. It was build in 1889. The building has been converted into apartments.

A mural taken from the train....I think it is amazing.

...my favourite tall building, the Premier Tower.

At a tram stop on our way to our favourite second hand bookshop in Docklands.

Dinner this evening was at Ras Dashen, an Ethiopian restaurant in Footscray. What a treat, the food was delicious and interesting.

Frozen yoghurt from Goge at Yarraville for dessert...again, delicious.

On our way to meet Jeremy for brunch we discovered this wonderful library in the Athenaeum Building.  The building also houses the Athenaeum Theatre ....it was built in1839 and has so much interesting history. I would like to visit the library again...

Another attractive old building opposite...

In the afternoon Pete and I visited the NGV to see this exhibition...

The exhibition design is immersive and sensory-rich, inspired by the opulent 19th century Boston drawing rooms and refined salon interiors.

There were over 100 iconic paintings by famed Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists. These were my favourites...above is "Roses in a Vase" painted by Henri Fantin-Latour in 1872.

"Houses at Auvers" painted by Vincent van Gogh....we bought a print of this one.

Such an amazing room ...

There were 16 Monet paintings displayed in this grand oval room, evoking the ambiance of Paris's Musee de l'Orangerie...

"Water Lillies"

"Seacoast at Trouville"

"Fishermans's Cottage on the Cliffs at Varengerville"

Monet in his garden...

Scenes from our train ride home, couldn't resist capturing the view.

Monty asleep amongst his toys....

Chris Rich...

Leaving Perth airport at sunrise ....on our way to Melbourne ....

Busy Melbourne airport .....

We are staying with Chris and Michelle in their beautiful new home in Newport. After three hours  on the plane, a walk with Monty was just what we needed. It was a great way to stretch our legs and get to know the neighbourhood.

The walk from the first hole to the second ...I have never seen our lake so full...
