Minding Will...

Sunday, 3 June 2018

Sometimes I curse this tree, the leaves, the seed pods, the flowers, noise from the corollas in the branches....but on days like today, it is stunning.

The first Saturday in winter and already the beach has changed dramatically. The storm on Thursday had caused a lot of the sand from the dunes to wash into the sea. There was heaps of seaweed, sponges, sea animals and rubbish washed up as well.

Pauline, Mandy and I tried to pick up as much litter as we could carry.

There were so many different sorts of sponges and seaweed....

On the trip back to City Beach we were walking in the full sun...glorious morning.

Although not ideal, there is something wonderful about playing in the wind and the rain....this photos of Irene and Jenny was taken before the storm hit.

Jan, Jonnine, Pauline and Jenny....we had a little celebration as it was Jan's final day at the club. We will all miss her, she is such a lovely person and has done a lot for the club.

Today our pennant team played at Royal Fremantle, so it was very convenient to drop in and visit Tash and Will on my way home....he was looking very bright eyed this afternoon.

Mandy's Birthday

An exciting day at the beach for Mandy's birthday....just as we set off on our walk the storm hit...we all darted behind a tree as the sand was stinging our faces....Mandy above.

Pauline chose to sit under the shelter...

The beach was closed, not that we would have gone into such a swell...but we enjoyed a nice hot cup of coffee. Not something we do very often.

Mandy had a birthday lunch at her place. Although it was her birthday, Will was the centre of most of the attention. It is so lovely to have a little one at our family get togethers.

I thought this was a particularly sweet one...

A photo that Lauren put up on instagram, their last day together in Hong Kong...

Corellas all over the course before the storms arrive this evening. It was a Silver Spoon today and I had a reasonable and enjoyable game.
