A magnificent old Karri tree at the start of our
walk this morning .... the start of the walk was only a short distance from where we are staying.

...glimpses of the Stirling Range ....

Our destination was Burchell Rock, the final
climb was a bit steep and slippery....

...but our effort was worth it for the wonderful
views ... particularly of the Stirling Range...

On the way down we explored some of the
spaces between the gigantic rocks...

George’s Books, Records and Collectables in
Mt Barker was one place I didn’t want to miss
while we were down here.

Pete and I spent quite a while looking through
the literally thousands of books, records, tins
and other collectables.

Tuesday 23/7/2019

Our friend Julie drove up from Albany to join
us in a walk on the range. We decided to do the
Hayward and Nancy Peaks Walk. It started in this beautiful grove of Karri trees.

In the afternoon Pete and I drove down to the
coast. Our first stop was Hassell Beach, a
segment of the much longer Cheynes Beach.
Although it was overcast, the beach still looked stunning with the turquoise water and extremely
white sand.

The Waychinicup River flowing into the ocean...
in the Waychinicup National Park was a
wonderful place to explore.

Waychinicup National Park....looks rather barren but there are so many wild flowers among the scrubby bushes...

Our last stop was Betty’s Beach where we
saw whales! Perfect ending to a
very enjoyable day.

Mandy at the beach this morning.....very windy it was...

....and very rough, like swimming in a spa!

Another rainbow as we left...raining when we arrived, raining when we left but sunny whilst we walked and swam, very lucky.

Pete and Jeremy at Meat and Wine Co where they, Paul and I enjoyed a fabulous lunch today.

The restaurant is on the ground floor of the old Palace Hotel in St George's Terrace where I used to go for after work Friday night drinks forty years ago.

Tash reading a new book with Will...

While Tash went to her physio appointment, Pete and I minded Will. We remembered that there was some work being done up the road...such excitement for an 18 month old!

Will and Pete watching the digger at work... Will is performing his digger action whilst he watches...soooo cute.

Playing with his little cars and cat on the limestone wall..

Margaret and Cindy from Royal Fremantle and Rockingham Golf Clubs on the Kwinana Golf course where I played in a Silver /Bronze event today. Deb Callcott from Gosnells was the fourth lady in our group. It was a perfect day for golf and the course looked magnificent.

This is the original green keeper's house, in the middle of the course.

And I won Best Nett overall (88/73)..here I am receiving my prize with the Captain, Vice Captain and Sponsor of the day.
