Albany Golf Course....where our friend Julie is a member of the Albany Golf Club....Pete and I were thrilled to be able to play this course....it is one of our reciprocal clubs.

It is a links course and ranked in the top 100 in Australia. It is nestled amongst coastal sand dunes and has magnificent ocean views of King George Sound.  Established in 1898,  it is the home of Western Australia's oldest Golf Club.

The peppermint trees were laden with flowers...

Although it was cloudy the views of King George Sound were wonderful....

So good to have a game with Julie...

....and Pete....we all enjoyed the morning.

In the afternoon we went sight seeing ....first stop was the Mutton Bird Beach Lookout...and boy was it windy! But a great view....

Mutton Bird Beach.....

Shelter Island....

We went down and had a walk along the beach ....Geoff, Jeff, Hugh, Margot and Pete...a beautiful clean beach...

yes it was windy....

Amazing rocks...

...white squeaky sand...

A visit to Singlefile Wines....

Great wine and good coffee ...behind Margot is Graeme....Julie had a dress rehearsal for her tap dancing concert this afternoon so was unable to join us...absolutely gorgeous part of the world and lovely weather.

More drinks before sunset at Middleton Beach then fish and chips at our house....

On our way to Albany....

Coffee stop in the small town of Williams at the Williams Woolshed Cafe and surrounding shops....this is a photo of their clever Christmas tree made of wool.

Kojonup ....my turn to drive....

Middleton Beach, Albany .....Pete and I are sharing a house with Hugh, Tash, Christine and Jeff. We can walk to this beach in 10 minutes, how lucky are we.

Not long after we had arrived, Pete and I went for walk to stretch our legs after the long drive....I LOVED seeing all the shells...

Dinner tonight at "Liberte Restaurant " in the heart of Albany....this photo was taken in the restaurant bar, the dining room decor is fabulous as was the food. We had a great night. Pete, Hugh, me, Jeff (on the floor) Julie, Tash, Margot and Christine.

Christine and Tash....

Hugh and Jeff....the six of us played the board game Articulate for several hours before bed....we had such a good laugh!

Today I played at Hartfield Golf Course....it was this year's Celebrating WA Senior Women in Golf Event.

The course looked beautiful with lots of native bushes flowering....

A plant I had never seen before and there were many on the course. It is a Kingia Australis, a slow growing plant, native to South Western Australia. When it isn't flowering it looks like a Xanthorrhoea (grass tree) but they aren't related.

Early morning scrabble...

At McDonalds after seeing the movie "The Bad Guys", a good way to spend a cold and windy day...

The boys appreciated their treat and Pete and I loved having their company all afternoon. Making a funny face seems to be the thing when you are asked to smile for a photo...

Tash and family visited this weekend....today was her birthday...

Watching Australia win the first Ashes Test after only two days ....we would have all been ecstatic under normal circumstances but Will and Todd were going to the Perth Stadium on Sunday to watch the cricket. Will was to be one of the young cricket players who were chosen (in a ballot) to play on the ground during the players' tea and lunch breaks.

Having his own bedroom and queen size bed rather than share with his brothers did cheer him up a little.
