Chris in the kitchen

Michelle gave me this gorgeous present for my birthday...she had made it in an art class...it will look attractive in our kitchen, add little colour.

Pete and I drove to Geelong today, to see an art exhibition at the Geelong Art Gallery. But before we visited the gallery we stopped and looked at the Geelong Cathedral ...the grand Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels.It is a major Gothic-style landmark featuring the tallest bluestone spire in Australia.

This painting reminded Pete and me of the ocean and coast of the Faroe Islands....painted by Maxime Maufra ..."Cliff of Saint-Nicolas..."

Took this photo for Tash...she has just planted this plant in her garden...

The Brisbane Ranges in the distance on the way home to Melbourne from Geelong...there were so many fields of wheat and other crops...quite a pleasant drive.

I made lasagna for dinner...

We all played "Back in the Bowl" a game like charades...after dinner...

....I don't think I have laughed so much in ages...it was so much fun.

 

A lovely old building (built 1911) on Smith Street , Collingwood....Pete and I went for a short walk before meeting Jeremy for brunch....

Quirky decor, great service and fabulous food...

....the best coffee...

...great to see Jeremy....and spend a few hours catching up on the news about his new job at Rio Tinto...

Driving through the city on our way to Newport, to Chris and Michelle's home...I am quite attracted to the large number of eye catching tall buildings....

While Chris and Michelle were still at work, Pete and I took Monty for a walk down at Seaholme by the water...

...overcast but no rain...and no cold wind...

Chris cooked a delicious dinner...

I can't remember him ever having such long hair ...I like it. We had a really enjoyable evening with him and Michelle.

 

An early start this morning at the Victoria Golf Club....dark and raining, not ideal for golf....

Unusual coloured grass on the greens...so many trees, many conifers...and like all sand belt courses there were plenty of bunkers.

Rows and rows of delightful looking conifers...not something you see often in WA.

Again, very wide fairways...it rained most of the day, mainly drizzle...it was a bit difficult holding an umbrella and pulling a buggy...we both missed our battery operated golf buggies. Still, we both enjoyed the game, such an outstanding course ...I had very friendly playing partners ....

Victoria Golf Club....the clubhouse....where we enjoyed a delicious hot meal after the game.

After a quiet relaxing afternoon Pete and I met my dear friend Anne for dinner at the Bentleigh Social .  It was a fabulous place her son had recommended for us to eat. It was warm, not too noisy and fabulous food. We had such an enjoyable evening, so many laughs.

 

Today we played at Kingston Heath Golf Course....another stunning clubhouse...

Definitely the most famous golf course I have ever played on and it certainly was a wonderful experience.

The practice putting green at 7.20am....

One of the 145 bunkers that are on the course. I didn't go into as many as yesterday...

Such wide fairways but lots of undulations...usually towards the bunkers... Again the course had couch grass and my ball was really rolling.

More rain today but only for a few holes...I played much better than yesterday and was one shot off winning second prize ...

My three delightful playing partners...Martine, Parnia and Kerry...we had a very enjoyable game...and were surprised that we were given a delicious lunch...

Pete's having a great time here too in the sand belt....
