Our final morning in Melbourne....Pete and I went for a long walk before packing up and heading  to the airport.

This apartment building caught my eye.

Wild winds this morning so absolutely no-one on the beach at St Kilda...

St Kilda

It was a pleasure to walk through the suburbs, there were so many pretty plants I had never seen before like this one.

Our plane home, the new Qantas Dreamliner....after spending a very comfortable hour or so in the Qantas lounge (thanks to Chris for the complimentary passes) we boarded this fabulous new plane and had a very enjoyable trip home.

Today the weather changed, wet and windy, so after a delicious breakfast with Chris, Pete and I set off for a day of shopping in the city. In the evening Chris and Michelle cooked us up a yummy dinner.

Another bright and clear morning for our walk along the Yarra Trail between Church Street bridge and the city....

Saw this lovely display of Tai Chi outside Federation Square...

Waiting outside the Melbourne Cricket Ground to meet Michelle and Chris.....this was my first visit to the MCG so I was pretty excited.

...and I wasn't disappointed, it looked just fabulous on such a sunny day. It was an exciting game between the Eagles and Collingwood (Eagles won).

A gorgeous photo of Chris and Michelle in one of the bars...Michelle is a member so it was a privilege to be able to see all the bars and lounges in that section of the stadium.

Crowds leaving the stadium...it was such a thrilling afternoon.

After the game we walked into the centre of the city where Chris showed us his new office. His firm Square have their offices in this building.

Walking along the Yarra Trail on a beautiful sunny morning...

...to Abbotsford Convent. The Convent is in a bend on the Yarra River and contains the Collingwood Children's Farm...

For more than 100 years, the Abbotsford Convent provided shelter, food, education and work for tens of thousands of women and children who experienced poverty, neglect and social disadvantage.

The Convent was added to the National Heritage List in August 2017.

Today the site and buildings are used as an arts, educational and cultural hub.

There are 11 buildings on the site....all of them beautiful in their own way...

Inside the main convent....

...the formal front garden . I just loved this big oak tree.

In the afternoon Chris and Michelle drove us to Geelong....after a delicious lunch at Little Creatures...

...we went for a walk along the waterfront....Eastern Beach..

The water was crystal clear...and surrounding parks, so green.

After a relaxing start to the day Pete and I caught the train into town from Windsor station.

It was wonderful to see Flinders Station all freshly painted....

...an artist doing his thing in Hosier Lane....

....nice to see the blue sky and sunshine....Pete and I explored the Manchester Unity Building (opposite the Town Hall)

....an amazing deco building that has been so well looked after...

Surprisingly, we had never been to Royal Arcade before...

One of the older buildings in the city....

My request for my birthday lunch...Vietnamese in Richmond....with Chris and Pete...

...an afternoon drink at Fargo and Co in Richmond .....a lovely day.

The view from our very comfortable apartment in Windsor...

Setting off to breakfast with Chris on a very chilly morning..

Church Street bridge....an afternoon walk with Pete....

...the streets of suburbia looking very different in winter....

Isn't this the most beautiful organ you have ever seen? Pete noticed it in St Ignatius church ....one of the churches that we popped into on our afternoon walk. In the evening we enjoyed a delicious meal with Michelle and her brother Daniel and parents Helene and Brad....I forgot to take a photo.
