Michelle kindly lent her car to  Pete and I today. We visited some of my old schools and houses that I had lived in. Above is St Cecelia's, my primary school.

The nun's convent next to the primary school.

The back of the convent, the old stairs I used to walk up to my piano lessons.

What was once our little shop in Butterfield Street, Herston. Now a trendy coffee shop which sadly was shut.

Our shop in Kennedy Tce Red Hill, is now a hair salon.

Walter Taylor  Bridge in Indooroopilly....  I travelled over this bridge on the train to school.

Graceville Avenue, Graceville....the last house that we lived in before coming to Perth.

Another place we used to visit a lot when we were children was Nudgee Beach...in Moreton Bay Marine Park.

Soldier crabs...

Had a lovely walk...

Also walked through the Boondall Wetlands.

Kurrawa Surf Lifesaving Club

Breakfast on the balcony...

The view from the balcony...much brighter than it was on Sunday when we arrived, clear views of Coolangatta...

Arrived in Brisbane in the afternoon....wonderful to see Michelle and Kevin...

Banana tree overhanging in Michelle and Kevin's driveway...

Pete and I went for a walk this afternoon....the suburbs , looking so different to Perth, beautiful old Queenslander houses and tropical vegetation.

Kurrawa, looking south, this morning....looking delightful...Pete and I had a swim...

...looking north...

Today we played at the Glades golf course...and what a pretty course it was. We spotted lots of tortoises in the water.

....so pretty...

Wendy (from NSW) and I taking off....

So lush and green, and so much birdlife....

I had a good game and won the ladies competition.

Tonight, our final night, we walked to the Convention Centre for our Gala Dinner.

Surprisingly I won the Ladies B Grades (40 - 64 years) competition..

Dancing with my darling husband...the band was terrific...a great night.

Kurrawa Beach this morning...

I love their little lifeguard towers....

This afternoon we played at Palm Meadows. It was still overcast but no rain and nice and warm. The course was very wet though. Above is a photo of Prada from Thailand, my other playing partners were Deb from Wellington NZ and my good friend Jane Ellis from WAGC.

The homes and gardens around the course were stunning.

As there was no golf today,  Pete and I decided to go sight seeing. We hired a car.....first stop, Surfers Paradise beach....

The old and the new in Surfers Paradise.

Mermaid Beach...no high rise buildings, a little more like the Gold Coast I remember.

Miami Beach....

Burleigh Heads...

We did a walk through Burleigh Heads National Park....

The other side of the Heads is Tallebudgera Creek...

Tallebudgera Creek...meets the ocean. This was a most beautiful place to paddle.

The place I most looked forward to seeing, Rainbow Bay.

We enjoyed our first swim in the ocean here....

The lovely old Surf Club at Rainbow Bay....

...where we had lunch whilst watching the surfers.

Tweed heads

Cabarita Beach....this was probably the prettiest beach we stopped at...

Byron Bay....then the return trip back to our apartment.
